ARCH 3501 // Lubbock Heritage Center // Lubbock, TX // 2014

A cultural heritage center was proposed to unify the diverse nonprofit organizations of Lubbock and the surrounding areas. The complex was required to fill the needs of community events, organization offices, a permanent archive, and semiflexible exhibit spaces. In an effort to identify with the surrounding agri-industrial landscape, the proposal directly references common building typologies found in the American Southwest and Llano Estacado. The curved Quonset hut is a point of origin, with three storage halls for distinct program needs.
