ARCH 3301 // Diagrammatic Assembly // 2013

Diagrammatic Assembly: an assembly that exists independent as an object, indicating of ideas of foundation and enclosure but not representing an actual “piece” or “section” of such. The diagram explored explore conceptual ideas of how stereotomic materials and tectonic layers are reconciled in a dual assembly. The diagrammatic assembly illustrated the theory of exfoliation: displacing rigid layers to reveal a hidden interior.
